Founded by Heather Cook, a seasoned sync executive with over two decades of industry experience, Freedom Music Group stands as a beacon for artists seeking a platform where creativity knows no limits. Heather Cook

Founder/CEO & Executive Producer

Heather Cook is a Sync Music Executive, Music Producer, Singer-Songwriter, Music Doc Director,  Event Producer and Published Author with over 20 years experience in the music industry. Starting her career at The Voice Studio in Boston, MA working with celebrity vocal coaches, sound engineer/producer Stuart “Dinky” Dawson (Fleetwood Mac, The Byrds), Denny Dias (Steely Dan), and Paul Main (Roy Acuff).  She has an undergraduate degree in Music Business from Belmont University, a Masters Degree in Music Business & Certificate in Music Production from Berklee College of Music. She spent 3 years running her own music publishing and artists management company Cookin’ Up Music Publishing & Artists Management, 10 Years as a Sync Creative at peermusic where she secured dozens of sync placements and managed the licensing of hundreds upon hundreds of songs for ads, 1 year as Sr. Director, Creative Sync at Eternal Music Group where she produced over 7 albums for their custom music library and where she had placements for Google I/O, FBoy Island, San Benedetto and music placed in over 25 Major Sports Arenas. She is an Executive Producer on Don’t Scare The Ghosts and as the Sr. Music Event Producer at the Nashville Film Festival she has hosted dozens of music supervisors, orchestrated dozens of artist performances and helped educate hundreds of music creatives in the art of sync music.  She directed and produced the 20th Anniversary O Brother, Where Art Thou Music Tribute sponsored by Variety and hosted at Nashville Film Fest featuring George Clooney, John Turturro, Tim Blake Nelson, Chris Thomas King, Emmy Lou Harris, T-Bone Burnett and Carleen Carter.  She has served as the Administrative Director for AIMP Nashville, SOLID Alumni President, and is currently a Recording Academy Professional Member & Mentor. She currently serves as President of non-profit Nashville In Sync. As a songwriter and artist her songs have been licensed by multiple pro women’s sports teams and are currently playing in over 20 major sports arena’s around the U.S.

I am an experienced freelance music clearance/licensing professional always looking for a new project. My work has included 3 national Super Bowl spots, worldwide branding campaigns, concert films, documentaries, tv, samples, even print and mechanical licenses. Jason Lee

Director, Creative Sync

Jason Lee is a sync music creative with over a decade of experience in the music industry. As the Creative Manager, Film/TV for peermusic he procured sync placements for their legacy catalog of well-known and recognizable songs as well as music from their burgeoning emerging indie artist roster in video games, films, and television productions. He also worked as Senior Manager, Creative Sync for Eternal Music Group where he served as an executive producer for their custom music library albums and tracks, and represented artists under Eternal’s label imprints, Sonic Ritual, and Cerebral. Through close collaborations with a wide variety of talent, Jason has successfully landed placements in major video game titles, such as Call of Duty, Fortnite, Valorant, and Cyberpunk 2077, as well as in film and TV productions, including One of Us Is Lying (Peacock), Sex Lives of College Girls (HBO Max), Selling Sunset (Netflix), and The Wonder Years (ABC) among others. 

Laney Schorno

Associate, Creative Sync

Laney Schorno, a dynamic young professional from Seattle, Washington, is currently based in Paris, France. With a rich international background in sync and the music industry, she recently completed her Master's degree in Music Business and Global Entertainment from Berklee Valencia. Fluent in three languages, Laney is the founder of the Welcome Home Writing Camp, one of the pioneering writing camps in Valencia, Spain. She aspires to seamlessly integrate visual content and music, forging the perfect link between the two.
